What the Year of Transformation is
The Year of Transformation is a decision of the Sinode Godang 2024 in the HKBP Strategic Plan 2024 to 2028. Its theme is drawn from Roma 12:2, a call to be transformed by the renewal of the mind.
The word transformation comes from the Greek metamorphoo, which means metamorphosis. Spiritual transformation is more than a change of behavior. It is a renewal of the way we think so that we understand God's good and perfect will.
Through transformation, HKBP wants to become a church that is more energized, moves more nimbly, is better, is more beautiful, and becomes a blessing to the world.
Meaning of the Logo

Butterfly
The metamorphosis of the butterfly pictures the journey of transformation. A change that is fundamental and growing.
Four Circles
The four basic elements forming the logo represent four elements of change: character, promise, culture, and capability.
The Cross at the Center
The cross is the anchor. Transformation does not stray from the teaching of Christ in every HKBP ministry.
Three Supporting Lines
The three callings of the church: fellowship (koinonia), witness (marturia), and service (diakonia).
Purple and Blue
Purple symbolizes repentance, transformation, honor, and glory. Blue affirms the identity of HKBP.
